PromptEval ("we", "our", "us") provides tools for users to evaluate, test, and analyze prompts against LLMs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use prompteval.ai and its related services (the "Service").

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Name or display name
  • Email address
  • Authentication information (such as password hash or OAuth identifiers)

1.2 Usage Data

When you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Prompts and test inputs you submit
  • Execution history (timing, batch ID, model name, metadata)
  • Model responses generated for your prompts
  • Preferred settings and configuration

1.3 Customer-Provided API Keys ("Bring-Your-Own-Key")

If you choose to connect to providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini using your own API key, we:

  • Store keys encrypted at rest if they are stored in your account; or
  • Do not store keys at all if you choose in-browser or local-only usage.

Keys are used only to execute requests that you initiate. We never share, sell, or repurpose customer API keys.

1.4 Technical & Log Data

We may automatically collect certain technical information, such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and device information
  • Request timestamps
  • Error logs and diagnostic information
  • Rate limit and security logs

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

  • Provide, maintain, and operate the Service
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts
  • Execute prompt runs and generate results
  • Monitor usage to prevent abuse and spam
  • Improve product experience and performance
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries

Aggregated and anonymized usage information may be used to improve system performance and reliability, but we do not publicly disclose individual prompt content.

3. How We Share Information

We may share information with:

  • Cloud infrastructure partners (hosting, database, storage) that support the Service
  • Third-party AI model providers, but only when you explicitly choose to call them or configure your own API keys
  • Legal or regulatory authorities when required by applicable law

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Data Retention

In general:

  • Account information is retained while your account remains active.
  • Prompt data and execution logs may be retained for as long as needed to operate the Service, unless deleted by you or required for system auditing and security.
  • Customer-provided API keys are deleted when you revoke or remove them.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain certain records.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption in transit
  • Encryption at rest where supported by our infrastructure
  • Access controls and internal permissions
  • Secure storage of secrets separate from application code

However, no system can be completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in a high risk to your rights or freedoms, we will notify affected users in accordance with applicable laws.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct or update your personal information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export stored prompts and results where technically feasible

7. Third-Party AI Providers

When you run a prompt against an external AI provider, your prompt content and any included data may be sent to that provider. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to the handling of that data. You are responsible for complying with the terms and policies of providers whose APIs you connect.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice within the Service. The updated policy will be effective as of the date indicated at the top of the page.
